Major Duties

: (a) To perform teaching duties including student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment to support teaching and learning; (b) To carry out duties in relation to student activities and academic administration; (c) To provide academic support to programme development, learning support to student projects, and to perform teaching duties where necessary. (d) To develop programme curriculum and teaching and learning packages; (e) To provide academic counselling; (f) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and (g) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and function, including but not limited to fashion show, consultancy services, short courses, seminars and exhibitions, where necessary. Requirements : (a) A recognised degree in Art, Fashion, Hairstyling, Makeup, Image Design or relevant discipline, or professional qualifications, preferably with post-graduate qualifications; (b) At least 3 years’ work or teaching experience in the relevant industry; (c) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; (d) A good team player with the ability to work independently under pressure; (e) Relevant experience in the fashion/ image styling industry or shows or concerts would be an advantage; and (f) Good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an added advantage. Note s : (1) Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of “Part-time (Day Time) Assistant Lecturer” which is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment. (4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process. (5) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
