We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, to join our Corporate Trust- Administration & Planning team. This role is in Hong Kong– Hybrid work model.

This newly created role will remain within the COO team but with dual reporting lines to Australia COO and Head of APAC TMG.

The dual role has been created as the support provided to the Australia COO is expected to only account for 50% of the candidate’s time. The remaining capacity is to be utilized to support Transaction Management in APAC.

In this role, the candidate will support both the COO and TMG teams and balance the departments competing priorities and timelines for outcome delivery. 

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

The support to the Australia COO will be task based not deal based. This is because the COO team handles many ad hoc queries or requests for information from other internal teams. Very few projects have a regular cadence other than AML/ATE or SLA annual review. The candidate will need to be able to move between tasks flexibly, ask questions to ensure they have enough information to complete the tasks, escalate early if more information is required or road blocks are encountered. The candidate will need to be solution oriented and work with a variety of stakeholders across the organization. In some cases you will be dealing with historic unresolved issues with little background. This will require you to be resourceful and tenacious in attempts to finally resolve issues. Co-operating with colleagues where the issue may not be a priority on their agenda but politely and thoughtfully seeking assistance to complete resolution of the issue. All outcomes in relation to COO tasks must be fully documented and saved to a COO share point for future reference. If the task to be completed is likely to be an annual task there will be a requirement to document the process followed into a procedure for the future scenario.

The support to TMG APAC will be more traditional support as if acting as a Transaction Manager. The candidate will be expected to have experience in the following tasks:

  • Review Debt Capital Market deal documentation to which a BNY entity is a party. Not limited to Trust Deeds, Agency Agreements, Account Bank Agreements, Custody Agreements and Loan documentation.
  • Work closely with clients, lawyers and advisors to ensure issues are escalated promptly and resolved in line BNYM policies and procedures, document standards.
  • Work with clients, lawyers and internal stakeholders to resolve any documentation and or operational issues. Ensure key tasks for BNY are extracted from the documents and highlighted to the internal teams responsible for performance of the activity.
  • Complete all client onboarding responsibilities and ensure the closed transaction is handed over to the Client Service Team to manage the deal throughout its life cycle.
  • Attend external briefings to stay up to date with market updates and changes in legislation.

 

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Understanding of a variety of Debt Capital Market products including but not limited to Bonds, MTN’s , Securitisation, and Project Finance
  • Understanding of the issuance process through the ICSD’s, DTC, CMU and CDP.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Law or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
