The Global Engagement and Communications Office (GECO) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is looking for a high caliber individual to support the Brand Marketing Team in driving local and international branding initiatives.

Major duties include:

Communicating and coordinating with different internal and external partners including faculty, administrative staff, student helpers, media partners, production houses and service providers for the execution of initiatives related to marketing projects that support on brand building locally and internationally;Provide support on content fact-checks for the update, consistency and accuracy of brand-related projects such as Brand Guidelines, Corporate Brochure, Logo Approval System, University Website, Centralized University’s databases covering awards, news, multimedia materials and Event Calendar; Supporting brand research to learn about the University’s brand performance against the industry players and identify competitive edges;Conducting periodical desktop research online and the latest trend study for benchmarking competitor’s branding campaigns;Supporting the revamp and daily operations of the Visitor Information Center with responsibilities covering site condition checks, booking management, and content updates through the CMS and the like;Providing support for development of marcom materials for brand initiatives and projects; andCarrying out administrative duties involving tendering and procurement, meeting coordination, meeting minutes, budget monitoring, filing, and data entry, among other tasks.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, marketing knowledge, information research skills, and good data analytical skills. Good written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) skills are required. A band score of 7.5 or above for writing in the IELTS and proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel would be distinctive advantages. To excel in this role, the appointee should have strong organization, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills in addition to being highly adaptive to changes as new tasks may arise from time to time. They should also be reliable, self-motivated, detail-minded, a devoted team player, and capable of multi-tasking, meeting tight deadlines and supporting the team in driving results. The appointee should be flexible to emerging requirements from the team as needs arise. Ad hoc support outside office hours including weekends/public holidays will be required on an as-needed basis. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
