Role Overview: TP ICAP is seeking a Trainee Broker to join our Hong Kong team. This is an entry-level role into the world of Broking and provides the successful applicant with on-the-job training and exposure to the financial markets we operate within. We are ideally looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that can work autonomously and collaboratively in a small team. Role Responsibilities: Arrange or introduce trades from client orders. Develop existing and new client relationships. Understand the business objectives of clients. Understand the underlying products being traded by clients and keep up to date with new products and procedures. Develop new business with existing clients and on-board new clients/traders. Seek to increase the overall revenue of your desk. Maintain an updated knowledge of the products and markets in which you work. On-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team. Assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross-selling opportunities. Understand pertinent regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape. Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with group policies. Exercise independent judgement and act with integrity, care, skill and diligence. Competence/Experience: Essential: Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy. Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Trilingual language skills in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Communicates effectively to internal and external stakeholders. Builds relationships and networks with both internal and external parties. Desirable: Personable and engaging. Demonstrates strong customer focus. Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others. Constructively handles disagreements to reach a resolution. Ability to work with diverse groups/personalities.
