Life and Health Pricing Actuary

to join our growing team in Hong Kong, reporting to the Head of Pricing, Japan & Korea. In this role, you will be responsible for the pricing of life reinsurance treaties and support the product development primarily for the

Japan market .About the team:The regional pricing team is responsible for the pricing of Life & Health business written in the Asia Pacific region. Across these markets, we write group and individual protection business, both in short and long-term lines.About the role:In detail your responsibilities will include:Performing and documenting the pricing of quotes across responsible markets while ensuring compliance with internal standards, thorough risk assessment, and application of best practice.Performing peer review on quotations to ensure accuracy of financial results.Collaborating with a cross-functional team of professionals from client markets and underwriting towards assessing the risks associated with a particular opportunity and ensuring the sustainability of the business written.Contributing to the development of market-specific reinsurance solutions and products.Developing, enhancing, and maintaining pricing benchmarks, tools, and efficient methods of carrying out existing processes.QualificationsAbout you:You are looking to accelerate the development of your actuarial career.

You have the ability and courage to constructively challenge business propositions whilst being business-minded and solution-oriented. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex technical issues in a simple way.You enjoy collaborating with your colleagues as well as working on your own. Your preference is to be part of an international and multicultural environment, handling diverse tasks, yet always ready to serve the team and meet the business needs.You have the following background, skills, and mindset:Recently or nearly qualified Life Actuary (FIA or equivalent) with around 8 years of experience in life insurance

(preferably in pricing/data analytics).Good understanding of key industry issues and trends, local regulations, and market practices; experience in the

Japan

market is a plus.Fluent English speaker with Japanese language skills is desirable.Ability to analyze big data sets, identify key insights, and provide recommendations. Critical Illness pricing experience is a plus.Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively.Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable and takes ownership for problem resolution, able to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines.Proficiency in programming languages and actuarial software (R / Python / Axis / Prophet / SQL) is advantageous.PartnerRe provides a working environment in which diversity is valued, where all employees feel welcome, respected, and empowered to perform at their best.
