AVP, Business and Operational Risk, Private Banking (BH-1944)Location: Central and Western District, Hong Kong Sector: Banking Salary: 650,000.00 HKD to 750,000.00 HKD per annum Company Overview: This leading Chinese Bank is looking for seasoned operational risk talent focusing on private banking to join them. You will be joining a team of 6. Great working culture and great remuneration package are provided. Job Scope: As the AVP, Operational Risk focusing on private banking in a leading Chinese Bank, your key responsibilities will include: Act as first line of defense to advise the business regarding control matters: conduct transaction monitoring and business reviews to ensure compliance with both internal and external requirements; identify potential compliance or operational risks or breaches, and prepare comprehensive management reports, also provide recommendations to mitigate the identified risks effectively. Conduct regular operational risk and control self-assessment to identify potential risks and gaps in existing processes. Assess product due diligence requests raised by the business. Monitor and analyze key risk indicators, operational risk incidents, and loss events to proactively address emerging risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures on the private banking business, thus monitor implementation status of action plan(s). Work on regulatory survey(s); conduct annual risk and control assessment to ensure relevant risks are identified with proper control being laid down. Review policies & procedures, risk assessment materials submitted by various units and analyze the compliance/operation risks in new businesses/products/systems. Conduct trade surveillance, daily report monitoring and other regular transaction and workflow monitoring to identify possible compliance/operational risks and provide recommendations to enhance control weaknesses. Work closely with business and second line of defense to implement regulatory and internal requirements on the private banking business, also stay updated on regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging trends related to operational risk management in the private banking sector. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance risk awareness and promote a strong risk culture within the organization. Coordinate BCP; perform UAT for system changes. Assist on other ad hoc tasks as assigned. Requirements: Degree or above with major in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or other related discipline. Minimum 6 years' experience in Operational Risk Management covering the private banking sector. Good analytical, time management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese. Familiar with HKMA / SFC regulatory requirements.
