We invite you to become a fan of the exceptional.About the jobBased at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within the Food & Beverage Division, the Head Sommelier is responsible for managing the beverage service and all the wine inventory as well as promoting sales. The Head Sommelier will be involved in the daily operation of the restaurant and serve wines and spirits. The Head Sommelier reports to the Restaurant Manager.As Head Sommelier, you will be responsible for the following duties:Deliver a delighted bar and dining experience to our guests.Oversee and maintain smooth and efficient operations in the bar areas.Understand guests' needs and deliver excellent service and professional recommendations.Ensure that the beverage lists are updated and maintain accurate sales records.Monitor the proper storage, aging rotation, and temperature of all stock in the beverage storeroom daily.Serve all beverage orders in accordance with proper procedures.Provide on-the-job training to bartenders and the service team in all aspects of beverage service and knowledge.Follow and apply HACCP standards at all times.As Head Sommelier, we expect from you:Holder of WSET certificate.Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in the F&B or hotel industry.Solid experience in fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurants is preferred.Passionate about delivering exceptional F&B service.Pleasant, presentable, service-oriented, a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Cantonese and English; Mandarin is an advantage.Initiative and good customer service skills.Our commitment to you:Learning & Development.
