As an

Senior Manager, Raw Materials Capabilities , you will lead always-on innovation in subject matter expertise (SME) that supports Target's brand promise and drive differentiation in our owned brand assortment. Responsible for managing the raw material relationships with supply chain partners to resolve technical issues and provide innovative solutions. As a Senior Manager, Raw Materials Capabilities (Molded Plastics and Films), you will be:

Responsible for innovation projects related to SME within defined vendor/supplier matrix for Target Owned Brands in service of sustainability and other business priorities.

Manage and coordinate projects with HQ and Global Office cross functional teams; and the projects are organized in a portfolio approach.

Educate external business partners or/and internal team members on innovative scientific processes and raw materials related to SME.

Lead the efforts to develop new internal and external capabilities to deliver on long-range raw materials goals.

Partner with external partners to run trials and create accurate process documentation [i.e. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)].

Champion initiatives for continuous improvement on sustainability, speed, flexibility, and profitability.

Analyze physical testing reports and provide a summary of the report’s impact on final product performance, potentially recommend updates to material choice, design or technical specifications of products.

Execute and proactively explore innovative ideas including implementing and commercializing new raw materials, enhancing tooling and manufacturing technologies, to improve the quality, production efficiency, or/and lower environmental impact.

Lead 3D digitalization projects related to apparel, home, hardline and beauty products.

Develop and maintain key performance indicators within the scope of role to measure and track supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Material Science, or related field

Minimum 8 years of experience in raw material development, specifically plastics (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, etc.), in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with other materials such as glass, wood, natural materials is a plus.

Skilled engineer with technical knowledge of injection molding BrE or injection molding AmE.

Technical experience related to tooling drawing.

Well-understand the plastic product industry landscape.

Strong problem-solving skills and work independently.

Knowledge of US regulatory and safety requirements.

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Innovative mindset with the ability to propose and implement new solutions and improvements.

Strong analytical skills for assessing material performance and sustainability impacts.

Ability to build, leverage, and maintain strong cross-organizational relationships.

Works autonomously to manage all day-to-day operations with little or no supervision from the manager.

Proficiency in 3D design and development software (e.g., Keyshot, Solidworks, CLO, 3DS Max, Blender or similar) to support.

Able to travel frequently, up to 20% of the time.
