An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.Essential FunctionsAn individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation:Directs the quality strategy for Sourcing (in either Food/Consumables or General Merchandising) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, the achievement of quality goals, and the appropriate use of the most current technology, systems, processes, and talent. Uses statistically valid means to determine the greatest risks and opportunities.Supports suppliers in the identification of opportunities to improve quality for Walmart customers. Supports factories and sourcing teams in the delivery of Merchandising strategies and best practices. Develops and drives the implementation of standard operating procedures and industry best practices to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.Ensures product compliance with Walmart’s quality standards. Ensures samples of all products are tested by independent third-party laboratories to verify compliance with applicable regulations at the national and local levels of the retail market. Partners with product developers, merchants, and sourcing team partners to ensure factories are categorized by expertise and ability, providing the factory with the necessary tools.Ensures the overall quality and safety of Walmart private brand products by measuring, assessing, and weighing and combining supplier, factory, and product ratings against set product criteria. Responds to immediate safety concerns (for example, product withdraws/recalls). Oversees the implementation of preventive practices. Benchmarks private brand industry practices.Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Presents information to small or large groups and individuals.Observes associate, customer, or supplier behavior.TravelTraveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites during the workday.Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring an overnight stay.Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.Travels internationally to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring extended overnight stays.Entry RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business or related area and 7 years' experience in supply chain, transportation, logistics, or related area.Option 2: 9 years' experience in supply chain, transportation, logistics, or related area.3 years' supervisory experience.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in business or related area.3 years' cross-functional experience.Certified Purchasing Manager or related purchasing manager certification.WMGS doesn’t charge any recruitment or similar fee in the recruitment process including but not limited to interview, offering and onboarding.Seniority level
