The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data privacy laws, risk management, and data governance frameworks. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s data assets while fostering a culture of compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Management: Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPO, CCPA).Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures.Risk Assessment: Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.Training & Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about data protection best practices and compliance requirements.Incident Response: Lead investigations and response efforts for data breaches and security incidents, ensuring timely reporting and remediation.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (IT, Legal, HR) to promote data protection initiatives and ensure data governance.Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor compliance with data protection policies and provide regular reports to senior management and the Board.External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from regulatory authorities and stakeholders.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Data Privacy, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles, with at least 5 years in a senior position.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data protection technologies, data governance frameworks, and risk management practices.Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive cultural change within the organization.Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.Retirement savings plan with company match.Seniority level
