We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Protection Officer to lead our data protection initiatives and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data privacy laws, risk management, and data governance frameworks. You will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's data assets while fostering a culture of compliance. Key Responsibilities Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPO, CCPA). Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities. Training & Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about data protection best practices and compliance requirements. Incident Response: Lead investigations and response efforts for data breaches and security incidents, ensuring timely reporting and remediation. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (IT, Legal, HR) to promote data protection initiatives and ensure data governance. Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor compliance with data protection policies and provide regular reports to senior management and the Board. External Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from regulatory authorities and stakeholders. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Data Privacy, or a related field; a master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles, with at least 5 years in a senior position. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data protection technologies, data governance frameworks, and risk management practices. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders. Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive cultural change within the organization. Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
