Position SummaryThe incumbent will supervise the Retail Credit Risk team to manage the credit risk of retail lending portfolios at each stage of credit cycle, i.e. from acquisition, portfolio management to debt collection and bad debt recoveries. In addition, the job incumbent is responsible for performing the other assignments given by Group Chief Risk Officer and Department Head of ESG Risk & Oversight.ResponsibilitiesManage the risk costs (NPL, impairment loss) of retail lending products in accordance to the approved budget.Manage the portfolio quality and aid the development of retail lending products by formulating strategies and developing risk management framework, policies and procedures at each stage of credit cycle, ensuring the current credit strategies align with the bank’s risk appetite.Develop, monitor and optimize the use of various credit decision tools such as credit scorecards, segmentation models, decision engine, and effective MIS reports to optimize risk and reward.Collaborate with Business Units in product developments related to retail lending.Manage the collection performance of Debt Collection Agencies and other offshore Collection teams.Review and oversee the risk management framework of BEA China’s co-lending business.Perform the 1st Line of Defense functions for other risk types in accordance with the roles and responsibilities designated by the Board for the Risk Owners under the Enterprise Risk Management framework.Manage resource deployment and utilization through periodic review, monitor staff performance and take appropriate measures to promote staff proficiency and productivity on an ongoing basis.Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity; adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work.RequirementsUniversity graduate in Risk Management (or other related discipline), with relevant professional qualification (e.g. FRM, CFA, etc.).Minimum 15 years of experience in Banking and Finance covering the following:At least 5 years of supervisory experience.At least 10 years of experience in retail lending credit, including credit approvals, credit policy, portfolio management, debt collection and risk analytics.Good leadership skills and project management.Hands-on experience in credit rating and scorecard development and validation.Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements in retail credit.Well-versed in loan provision methodology and implementation under IFRS9 / HKFRS9.Excellent report writing and data analysis skills.Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.Seniority level
