Compliance Specialist

- with details as follows:THE JOB :

Report to Senior Global Sourcing & Compliance Manager who is based in USResponsible for ensuring that all vendor partners and the products they produce are compliant with the Company internal requirements as well as the requests/requirements of our customers.Responsible for ensuring that all compliance documentation is on file and stored appropriately.The Compliance Specialist shall take a proactive approach to incorporate compliance standards within our Corporate manufacturing processes by being knowledgeable regarding current legislation surrounding restricted substances, current trends in social compliance evaluations and documentation, and a broad understanding of environmental factors and authentication practices involved with garment trim manufacturing.Currently, this role is mainly focused on Restricted Substance (RSL) Compliance and Environmental Compliance, but may be broadened in the future to include aspects of Social Compliance and Product Performance Compliance.The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for logging all incoming compliance information requests from customers, analyzing the requests, gathering data and then responding to the requests. This includes reviewing all new or updated Customer Compliance Manuals for synchronization with our own RSL Manual and alerting the Senior Manager of any updates.Maintain a filing system for all compliance documentation.Maintain a system to assure that all factory certifications on file are continuously updated and are not expired.Field and respond to incoming compliance requests from customers.Read through all incoming “vendor manuals” as submitted by customers to best determine how to comply.Establish standards of environmental compliance required for vendor factory partners and a system to monitor/track.Manage the internal third-party testing program (TPT) for all applicable products.Stay current with new/updated RSL limits/regulations by reading bulletins and newsletters published by testing labs and attending online seminars.Ability to read and speak English.Minimum of 3 years working in product compliance; preferably within the garment/trims/packaging industry.Knowledge of various regulations pertaining to apparel manufacturing such as CPSIA, Prop 65, and REACH.Clear understanding of chemicals included in common RSLs and where they are most likely to occur in our product offering.Willingness and ability to travel to factory locations (currently in China and Vietnam) if necessary.5 days work (Mon to Fri 9am-6pm)Annual leave: 12 daysMedical & dental insuranceTO APPLY for this job or similar jobs:Please attach your CV with salary expected to resume@jpc.hk
