The Senior Vice President/Vice President of Group Financial Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting, financial reporting and regulatory accounting functions of the company. This includes ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, as well as compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Senior Vice President/Vice President will also be responsible for managing a team of financial accountants and ensuring that all financial data is recorded and reported accurately and on a timely basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the Group Financial Accounting Team including the finance teams for i) consolidation of PCCW Group including HKT Group; ii) regulatory accounting; iii) corporate function; and iv) financial system administration
  • Lead the Group’s statutory and regulatory financial reporting process, including the Group’s consolidated financial statements and Annual/Interim Reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, including statement of financial position, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage the regulatory accounting and reporting in accordance with the requirements set out by the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA)
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including the review on journal entries, account reconciliations, management reports and related schedules
  • Ensure that all financial data is recorded accurately and on a timely basis
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Review and approve all significant accounting transactions and estimates
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and other departments as needed
  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, investors, and regulatory authorities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the financial accounting team, including coaching and mentoring staff
  • Be responsible for monthly tax computation and annual tax return, assist tax department in answering tax queries
  • Participate in corporate projects, being the key group finance contact to Group Functions on HKEx announcements including discloseable transactions and connected transactions

 

 

Qualifications and experiences:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and member of HKICPA or other recognized professional accounting bodies
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial accounting, with 4 years in a management role. Candidate with proven solid experience in a publicly listed company as well as audit experience in Big 4 accounting firm is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards and Hong Kong Listing Rules
  • Self-motivated, independent and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills to lead and motivate the team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
