Our client, ConnectedGroup Limited, is a leading life insurer offering a comprehensive range of insurance and financial services to millions of customers across the region. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, providing technical guidance, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting stakeholder management and regulatory compliance through collaboration with various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the regular closing and reporting process for the Group and its business units, ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies and regulations from HKIA and the HK Stock Exchange.
  • Manage and support the creation of financial statements, management reports, and materials for the Audit Committee and Board, utilizing your expertise in financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Review and analyze consolidated financial results and those of individual business units, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance processes and controls.
  • Assist in meetings with business units to monitor financial results, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
  • Support improvements in processes and systems to make closing and reporting faster and more efficient, leveraging your knowledge of SAP, IFRS, and HKRBC.
  • Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and manage quarterly certifications from business units, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Help produce solvency reports for both Hong Kong and Bermuda, utilizing your expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support projects related to financial and regulatory reporting and contribute to broader finance initiatives, working closely with various business units.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Master's in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Qualified Accountant with experience in a multinational environment, preferably within the insurance industry or Big4 Consultancy.
  • Minimum 5 years (Manager) or 10 years (Senior Manager) of managerial experience in financial reporting or budgeting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the life insurance industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a sizable team and meet stakeholder needs.
  • Familiarity with SAP, IFRS, and HKRBC is a plus.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, analytical skills, and fluent in English.
