Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sourcing Manager to join our Asia Pacific team in Hong Kong. As a key member of our dynamic Procurement Department, you will be responsible for building and managing relationships with internal clients and vendors across the Asia Pacific region.

In this role, you will develop and execute supply strategies for multiple categories, with a focus on Professional Services, Marketing, Advertising & News, Media, Travel, and Bloomberg On-Site Services. You will also manage your own supply base, ensuring stakeholders receive what they need when they need it at the best value possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global organization like Bloomberg, where you will work closely with our Regional Manager and other members of the Sourcing Team to devise strategies that meet the varied requirements of our fast-paced business.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine specifications and requirements for products and services through communication with internal stakeholders and the department's strategic plan.
  • Lead sourcing opportunities, including RFPs, direct negotiations, etc., and use market research from internal and external sources to drive sourcing decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to the policies and thresholds set by the Chief Procurement Officer.
  • Negotiate and implement Contractual agreements in partnership with the internal customer and our Legal department.
  • Manage the vendor base to ensure contractual compliance and financial efficiency.
  • Continuously review with the Sourcing Team Strategic Plans to better serve the company as a whole.
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with internal clients and the associated vendor base.
  • Provide support to the rest of the team to ensure we deliver first-class customer service.

What We're Looking For:
  • A minimum 10-year experience in a strategic sourcing role, with strong category exposure to Professional Services, Marketing, Advertising & Media, and Travel.
  • Bachelor's degree, CIPS or equivalent.
  • Experience in the commercial environment with demonstrated ability for complex commercial and contractual negotiations, competitive market analysis, and ongoing supplier performance management/scorecards.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Strong contractual knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of and experience in contract law and applicable legislation.
  • Strong and firm decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of executive management.
  • Business-level proficiency in English and Mandarin.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
