Assistant Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income Specialist

About the Role

As a key member of our Fixed Income team, you will assist portfolio managers in managing AIMHK's fixed income investments. Your focus will be on managing Money Market Funds, involving in fund set-up, forming and recommending investment strategies, managing fund performance, credit quality, and specific requirements. You will also conduct order placements and manage cash to become productive assets by placing them in short-term money market securities, earning the highest possible interest rates for other fixed income funds/portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify suitable investment opportunities with portfolio managers that meet client/fund objectives
Stay updated on global and local macroeconomic environments and local regulatory frameworks to formulate investment strategies, conduct rate analysis, and translate them into fund performance
Perform regular fund reviews and portfolio manager calls with portfolio managers to ensure compliance with fund mandates and determine that investment risks are being managed appropriately
Work with internal and external counterparties on deal sourcing to meet investment requirements and participate in issuer meetings, market updates, and relative value discussions
Develop and maintain portfolio-wide analytics to track sectoral and name risk to ensure minimal impairments with the fixed income team
Analyze past and present peers' fund performances
Focus on continuous improvement in monitoring systems and maintain up-to-date, comprehensive, and well-organized data for analysis
Regularly review and update relevant credit and risk management procedures to be in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Assist on ad-hoc projects relating to fixed income as assigned from time to time

Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of relevant fixed income fund management experience
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines
Experience in total return strategies or HKD money market funds preferred
Proficiency in portfolio analytical tools, e.g., Bloomberg PORT
Ability to work independently, with oversight, and handle multiple demands
Strong aptitude in portfolio analysis and strong communication skills
Possession of relevant SFC license required
Professional qualification, such as ACCA, CFA, FRM, preferred
Good communication skills and fluency in English
