Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at LyondellBasell. As a key member of our Supply Chain function, you will be responsible for managing our logistics operations, ensuring efficient product storage and distribution at our 3PL warehouse or terminals in Asia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage logistics functions, including terminal, warehouse, trucking, surveyor, package, and customs broker in Asia to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
  • Support the development and execution of commercial sourcing strategies for logistics negotiations and perform economic analysis for logistics services and assets required.
  • Provide technical expertise on equipment specifications for transporting LyondellBasell products and monitor logistics vendors to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Interface with freight market players and brokers for chartering vessels and commercially negotiate Liquid Chemical cargo charters.
  • Investigate and define corrective actions for customer complaints and participate in projects to set up quality management and logistics operation flows.
  • Provide training, guidance, and functional expertise to colleagues in the team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or technical area.
  • IT capabilities: Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Work experience: Minimum 8 years of experience working in multi-national companies in Supply Chain functions.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Chinese is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: University degree in logistics, business, or technical area.
  • IT capabilities: SAP, Power BI.
  • Languages: Japanese or additional languages are preferable.
  • Work experience: Minimum 10 years of experience working in multi-national companies in Supply Chain functions.
  • Knowledge of international trade or supply chain functions, preferably on Logistics Operations Procedures.
  • Familiarity with chemical vessel chartering and technical chartering experience in the chemical liquid industry is preferred.
Functional Competencies/Skills
  • Manage delivery aspects in a distribution hub with obscure rules and changing distribution patterns.
  • Exercise strong communication skills internally and externally to achieve Supply Chain objectives.
  • Develop cost-saving programs to meet business strategy, increase efficiency, and align procedures.
  • Ensure strict compliance with local regulations, Distribution Standards, and procedures.
  • Adhere to the Logistics Code of Practice and corporate commitment to Responsible Care and product Stewardship.
  • Interface with Customer Service, Ops, Commercial, Finance, Supply sources, and Supply Chain Management groups.
  • Develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
