School Bus Driver Position

Arlington Central School District is seeking a qualified Hourly Bus Driver to operate school buses in the transportation of students on assigned routes. The ideal candidate will possess a Class B permit with P & S endorsements and be willing to complete the NYS Basic 30-hour School Bus Driver Instructional Program within the first year of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Inspect the operating condition of the bus before each use and report any mechanical defects to the bus garage.
- Ensure student safety by instructing them on practices when entering or exiting the bus and while in transit.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Class B permit with P & S endorsements (training available upon hiring).
- Complete the NYS Basic 30-hour School Bus Driver Instructional Program within the first year of employment.
- Pass a medical examination conducted by the employing school district, meeting NYSED Physical Performance Test requirements (drag 125 lbs. 30' in 30 seconds).
- Be at least 21 years of age and physically able to perform essential job functions (with or without reasonable accommodation).
