Position Overview

The Treasury division within the Finance Department is tasked with overseeing the University's liquidity and managing its long-term investment strategies related to endowment funds and pension schemes. This role also involves conducting financial analyses and formulating long-term forecasts to aid in the University's growth, alongside establishing financial policies concerning endowment expenditures and investment return management.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated professional to become part of the Treasury division with the following key responsibilities:

  • Support in the formulation of investment strategies for the University's funds and pension schemes.
  • Conduct performance analysis and reporting of investments.
  • Manage the accounting and distribution of investment earnings.
  • Prepare medium- to long-term financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Assist in the creation of treasury policies and daily management of working capital and surplus fund investments.
  • Oversee banking relationships and ensure compliance with counterparty limits.
  • Assess and implement best practices within the University's treasury functions.
  • Lead and mentor treasury staff.

Qualifications Required:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher with a recognized professional accounting qualification or CFA designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant managerial experience in an endowment, foundation, international fund management, or finance/private banking sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate treasury operations, including banking processes, cash management, and investment performance evaluation.
  • Practical experience in managing relationships with banks, fund managers, and consultants.
  • Exceptional writing skills for creating reports and proposals for senior management and governing bodies.
  • A collaborative team player with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Employment Terms:
The position is for a duration of 2 years, with the possibility of renewal. The starting salary will be aligned with qualifications and experience, accompanied by fringe benefits such as annual leave and medical and dental coverage where applicable. A gratuity will be awarded upon successful contract completion.
