Job Summary

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Work Officer to join our team. As a key member of our youth services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality services to secondary school students, including case work and group activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site services to secondary schools
  • Offer case work and group activities to secondary school students
  • Handle administrative and financial tasks related to youth services
  • Support youth services in various organizations and units

Requirements

Education

A recognized Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work

Knowledge and Skills

Familiarity with the characteristics and needs of adolescents

Excellent communication skills and case work knowledge

Understanding of secondary school services, with preference given to those with on-site experience

Good command of Chinese and English, with excellent writing skills in both languages

Good planning and activity implementation skills, with ability to work independently and collaborate with schools

Experience in organizing/leading children and youth activities is an asset

Familiarity with information technology and multimedia knowledge and application skills

Certificates, Licenses, and Registration

Registered social worker under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance

Personal Attributes

Pleasure in working with adolescents and understanding their needs

Proactive, creative, and self-disciplined

Good communication skills and positive thinking

Enjoy learning, open-minded, and optimistic

Adaptable, mature, independent, and willing to face challenges

Good planning and activity implementation skills

Application Instructions

  • Applicants must provide a record of conviction for sex crimes if their daily duties involve frequent contact with children
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written test
  • Applicants who have not been contacted within three months may consider their application unsuccessful, and their data will be destroyed immediately
  • Applicants who are invited for an interview but not selected will have their data destroyed one year after the completion of the recruitment process
