About the RoleThis is a hybrid role based in Hong Kong, offering flexibility to work remotely while fostering collaboration with the team in our vibrant office. We're looking for a talented Backend Engineer to develop and maintain key components of Kody's platform, such as our mobile point-of-sale system, payment terminal integrations, ecommerce payment gateways, and financial services products.
Responsibilities- Design and implement software components of Kody's platform using Kotlin and Java technologies.
- Debug and troubleshoot system issues, providing support as necessary.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's development process.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in software development processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the Kotlin/Java development space.
- At least 3 years of experience in backend Kotlin/Java software development.
- Familiarity with SQL databases like Postgres or MySQL.
- Good understanding of APIs: REST or gRPC (we use gRPC in all our services).
- Strong familiarity with Git version control (we use GitHub).
- Experience with cloud computing and deployment with CI/CD (we use GitHub Actions).
- Experience working with unit testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of agile development practices and methodologies.
- Fluent in English.
