Job Overview

The Cargo Supervisor is a key position within Etihad's operations team, responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and on-time delivery of all high-profile shipments on flights and key routes. As a vital member of the team, you will be the main point of contact for all Etihad Cargo-related matters, overseeing cargo warehouse operations and freighter ramp supervision at assigned stations.

Your primary focus will be on driving and improving freighter On-Time Performance (OTP) in a challenging environment, fulfilling tasks associated with ramp coordination and freighter operations. You will also establish best practices to enable revenue budget achievement and support service delivery, cost savings, and compliance with Safety & Security regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive OTP improvement by optimizing freighter operations, including planning and oversight of key activities, routes, and products.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for cargo handling, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead teams in maximizing flight capacity, reviewing processes and procedures for service delivery improvement, and reducing operational discrepancies and offloads.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and advice to staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and confidence level.
  • Ensure compliance with Etihad procedures and regulatory requirements in relation to safety, security, and Dangerous Goods.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, such as Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with airport authorities, customs, police, and airport operators to support the implementation of Etihad initiatives.
  • Micromanage special services and products/VIP shipments from acceptance to customer delivery.
  • Manage finances, raising purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices in SAP, and verifying supplier invoices for accuracy and correctness.
  • Make day-to-day operational decisions to mitigate risks associated with assigned tasks, through effective evaluation and decision-making based on conditions, hazards, and threats.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Educational background in logistics, operations management, or a related field, preferably with specialization in cargo handling operations.
  • Courses completed in cargo and dangerous goods, special products, aircraft weight and balance, and general cargo procedures.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in cargo operations, including freighter handling and managing teams and suppliers.
  • Good understanding of computer airfreight specifications, industry standards, and Legal Regulations.
  • Familiarity with cargo handling systems, messaging requirements, manual handling systems, and freighter aircraft.
  • Understanding of budgetary controls related to cargo handling at network stations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
