Research Assistant Professor Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our Signal Processing and Computational Biology group at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of machine learning and deep learning models for two exciting projects.
Project 1: COVID-19 Evolution and ImmunologyThis project aims to address challenges related to COVID-19 evolution, immunology, and vaccine design using genetic sequence data. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine/deep learning, signal/image processing, mathematics, and bioinformatics/computational biology.
Project 2: Eye Disease DetectionThis project involves developing automated systems for detecting eye diseases from image data. The successful candidate will work independently and be highly motivated to conduct impactful research in machine/deep learning applications.
Requirements- PhD degree in electrical/electronic/computer engineering or related disciplines
- Strong mathematical background and exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English
- Programming experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or R
- Research publications in reputable peer-reviewed conferences or journals
