About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist at Intact Lab HK, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions using machine learning and advanced statistics to tackle real-life customer and business problems.

You will have the opportunity to influence the AI roadmap for the largest home, auto and business insurer in Canada and explore new technologies to apply in your work.

Our team consists of world-class experts in data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business, and design, providing a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, reflecting the senior level of this position and the company's commitment to rewarding its employees.

Job Description

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
  • Influencing the AI strategy for the company and driving innovation in the field.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote a data-driven approach within the organization.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members to help them grow professionally.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and deep learning techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, science, engineering, statistics, AI, computer science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in predictive modeling, machine learning, and advanced statistics solving business problems.
  • Intermediate-to-Expert-level understanding of machine learning techniques, including clustering, decision trees, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Programming experience in languages such as Python and knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Strong communication, time management, and work organization skills.
