We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Eminent Sustainability Specialist to provide support to infrastructure and energy transactions in the East Asia and Pacific region. This professional will be a key member of our regional team, providing guidance to clients and investment teams on environmental and social risk assessment and management, in alignment with IFC Performance Standards and Sustainability Policy.
About the Role- Lead environmental and social due diligence (appraisals) of new investments in infrastructure, energy, oil and gas sectors, identifying risks, developing mitigation measures, and value-add solutions.
- Provide expertise to IFC investment teams on environmental and social risk management in project decision-making and processing throughout the investment cycle.
- Ensure effective use of staff, consultants, and resources, and timely completion of deliverables when leading environmental and social appraisals/due diligence and supervision.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or equivalent in environmental management/engineering, economics, or a relevant discipline, along with at least 12 years of experience working on environmental and social risk management in the international context. Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are essential for this role.
