Job Title: Head, Special Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Head, Special Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to drive business growth and revenue generation for the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Establish the strategic direction for the Special Projects Team, ensuring alignment with the Authority's vision and goals.
  • Business Development: Identify and evaluate potential business and promotional opportunities that align with the Authority's core objectives, and develop and implement revenue-generating leasing promotional strategies to support tenants in the retail, dining, entertainment, and other sectors within the district.
  • Project Management and Implementation: Oversee the planning, execution, and management of promotional campaigns and collaborative projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Foster collaboration and maintain effective communication with internal departments and external stakeholders, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Performance Evaluation and Reporting: Establish performance metrics for the Special Projects Team and regularly evaluate performance against set goals, and prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, outcomes, and key performance indicators for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management, or business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in placemaking, business and promotional management, with 7 years at the managerial level. Candidates with less experience may also be considered for a Senior Manager position.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering successful placemaking and sales-generating promotional strategies and campaigns, as well as collaborative projects across the retail, dining, entertainment, hospitality, arts, and culture sectors.
  • Strong passion and knowledge of promotions in retail, arts and culture industries, with a deep understanding of current trends, best practices, customer and community engagement strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Exceptional project management abilities, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to think creatively with strong multitasking skills that enable effective problem-solving and performance under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for project-related activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
