HSBC is seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as a Data Analytics expert. As a key member of our Wholesale COO team, you will play a critical role in driving strategic execution and delivering business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data simplification solutions to reduce reporting deduplication and improve data flow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders globally to improve the effectiveness of data flow and drive business outcomes.
  • Lead gap-analysis activities to identify opportunities for automating or simplifying reporting/MI activities.
  • Build repeatable techniques to identify opportunities for automating or simplifying reporting/MI activities.
  • Work with developers to execute solution designs into outcomes, including building new reporting/MI solutions on platforms such as Qlik, Looker, and Python-based tools.
  • Supervise the development, testing, and validation of Simplification solutions.
  • Support ongoing engagement with stakeholders, business analysts, and system owners to understand and deliver simplification initiatives.
  • Act as a champion for MI and reporting simplification within HSBC.
  • Take ownership of all risks, issues, and strategic choices relating to simplification tasks under their control.
  • Develop junior staff to expand the capability and capacity of the simplification team.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in data/business analytics in the financial or digital domains.
  • Proven capability in developing technical business analysis artefacts, functional/non-functional requirements, data lineage, etc.
  • Experience in business process mapping and data flow mapping.
  • Demonstrated experience in automation tooling, such as Python.
  • Experience in agile software development and tools such as JIRA, Confluence.
  • Strong business acumen with high ability to diagnose and articulate business problems, translate these into data and analytics requirements, and then recommend solutions for adoption.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytics product management skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-starter. Strive for change and able to lead and mentor junior members.
  • Experience in delivering requirements for analytics or simplification-related projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and analysis of large amounts of data using one of these: Python, R, SQL, or SAS; on environments such as Google Cloud or Hadoop.
  • Familiar with relational databases such as SAS, Oracle, Teradata.
  • Relevant Project Management or Agile Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, etc.
