Dah Sing Financial Group is a leading financial institution seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our data governance strategy and ensuring the quality and integrity of our data assets.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in data governance, data management, and data quality. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of establishing and implementing data governance frameworks, as well as analyzing compliance requirements and identifying data risks and control or compliance gaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Maintain and oversee the execution of our data governance and management policy, guidelines, and controls, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.">
  • Develop and implement a bank-wide data governance framework that focuses on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data through modifications to organizational behavior, policies, and standards.">
  • Analyze compliance requirements and identify data risks and control or compliance gaps across various data management areas.">
  • Support the Data Governance Committee in driving data governance initiatives aligned with the bank's data strategies and provide regular progress reports.">
  • Participate in the Data Analytics Center of Excellence to support the execution of the bank's data strategy and management in all data-driven business initiatives.">
  • Provide guidance on data projects from a data governance perspective to ensure data security, privacy, accuracy, availability, and usability throughout the data life cycle.">
  • Facilitate the definition of data domains, critical data elements, data standards, and identification of data owners to promote data quality.">
  • Develop and implement data quality monitoring, data standards, data governance tools, and adoption requirements across the bank, defining corresponding indicators of performance.">
  • Manage organizational data risks and issues, coordinating with data owners to accept or resolve them.">
  • Design training and activities to promote a culture of data governance across People, Process, and Technology.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.">
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in data governance from recognized establishments in the financial services and/or banking sector.">
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring data governance frameworks.">
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.">
  • A thorough understanding of local regulatory environments, preferably GBA regulatory environment.">
  • Advanced analytical skills, able to visualize opportunities and issues from data.">
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL, Microsoft Tools (Power BI, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).">
  • Willingness to take challenges, resolve conflicts, and solve complicated problems.">
  • Competence in managing and communicating with senior stakeholders.">
  • Prior experience in data analytics/Python/AI/ML/data platform implementation is desirable.">

Compensation Package

">

We offer a competitive salary range of HKD $1,200,000 - $1,800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and career development opportunities.
