Job Opportunity

We are seeking a distinguished academic to lead our Department of Cultural and Religious Studies as a senior research professor of Buddhist studies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Buddhist studies, preferably with a focus on Chinese Buddhism, and a proven track record of original and outstanding scholarship that leads the field.

The appointee will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Chinese Buddhism, supervise M.Phil./Ph.D. students, and direct the renamed Buddhist Studies Centre and the Master of Arts Programme in Buddhist Studies.

A strong commitment to teaching and research is essential, as well as experience in securing research grants and supervising students. The appointee will be expected to contribute to the development of the Department's research profile and teaching programmes.

The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care and housing benefits for eligible appointees. Appointment will be made at the Full or Associate Professor rank with substantiation (tenure). Other terms of appointments are possible and may be negotiated.
