Job Summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a highly skilled Automation Development Lead to lead the automation development team and define automation platform orchestration. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background across different areas, including Cloud technology, Infrastructure, and Network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the ServiceNow ITOM PVT team for all related development work and maintenance under the ServiceNow ITOM platform.
  • Identify ways to drive growth, productivity, and improvement for the company.
  • Investigate automation approaches, prototype, and evaluate technical feasibility with other IT infrastructure-related teams and application development teams.
  • Lead and manage internal and external development resources for assigned projects aligned with company strategic directions.
  • Participate in the organization and planning of development schedules.
  • Assist development teams with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress; update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product, release, and sprint backlogs.
  • Identify and remove impediments; prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal.
  • Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to provide transparency.
  • Adapt plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required to respond to emerging requirements and risks.
  • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices; maintain process documentation.
  • Accountable for team resource planning.
  • Manage external 3rd party resources.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to less-experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' solid development experience in the IT industry and at least 1 year in a team leading role.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Alicloud.
  • Solid experience with JavaScript, Restful API, JSON, XML.
  • Experience with monitoring and log analytics like Elastic or similar products.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITOM is a plus.
  • Solid experience with the full lifecycle of code development work.
  • Degree qualifications (or equivalent education qualifications) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Data-focused mindset and strong problem-solving skills, including clearly defining fact-based problem statements and providing resolution.
