We are seeking an exceptional Senior Quality Assurance Director to spearhead the development and implementation of our QA framework, ensuring the highest standards of quality across all trading systems and data pipelines.

Job Description:

The Senior Quality Assurance Director will play a pivotal role in building and scaling a world-class QA team from scratch, driving best practices, and fostering a culture of excellence in software and data quality.

This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact as the first QA leadership hire at Ashford Benjamin Ltd, where good judgment, innovation, and technology are at the core of our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing QA team, scaling from less than a handful of QA Engineers to potentially more.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive QA strategy, covering both manual and automated testing for backend systems, data pipelines, and trading infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to define testing requirements, identify gaps, and integrate QA processes into the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure thorough coverage across functional, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement preventive measures.
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience building and leading QA teams, with a track record of growing teams.
  • Strong expertise in QA methodologies, including both manual and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience in a trading firm, financial technology company, or similar environment, with a solid understanding of systematic trading systems and their testing requirements.
  • Familiarity with modern test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and performance testing tools (e.g., K6, Locust, JMeter).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Typescript, or Golang for test automation.
  • Knowledge of database query languages (SQL, NoSQL) for data validation and integrity checks.
  • Exposure to big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Snowflake) and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
