Key Responsibilities

As a distinguished academic leader at the City University of Hong Kong, you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and mentoring students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
  • Supervising research students at master and doctoral levels, guiding them in their pursuit of knowledge and expertise.
  • Conducting high-level research, developing new research directions and courses when necessary, and contributing to the advancement of your field.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement academic programs, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic goals.
  • Participating in departmental and faculty meetings, contributing to decision-making processes, and representing the University at national and international levels.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

  • A PhD in a closely-related discipline, with a strong research record in terms of grants, publications, and patents.
  • Excellent teaching ability, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality instruction and mentoring students.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
