About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced System Security Engineer to join our Information Security team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining enterprise IT security solutions to address our organization's security requirements. Your expertise will play a vital role in protecting our organization from cyber threats.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: You will design and implement security measures to protect our computer systems, networks, and information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or destruction.
  • System Security Requirements: Identify and define system security requirements to ensure that our IT systems meet the necessary security standards.
  • Cyber Security Architecture: Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs to safeguard our organization's digital assets.
  • Standard Operating Procedures: Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols to ensure seamless security operations.
  • Security Systems Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot security systems and infrastructure devices to prevent security breaches.
  • Technical Solutions Development: Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Vendor Management: Work with product vendors and suppliers to maintain and enhance existing security tooling and products.
  • Reporting and Communication: Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Experience in building, maintaining, and operating security systems and platforms. Hands-on experience in a number of security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, data loss prevention systems, web proxies, etc.
  • Education: A relevant University degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Other Requirements: Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols. Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Strong written communication skills and verbal presentations to senior management. Familiarity with cloud security technologies (AWS or Azure is preferred). Familiarity with risk/control frameworks, such as Mitre ATT&CK, D3FEND, OWASP, NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Familiarity in scripting or automation is an added advantage. Previous experience in regulated environments is an added advantage.
