Job Summary

The Shenendehowa Central School District is seeking a skilled Security Guard to monitor and control access of individuals and activities on campus. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage campus traffic in high volume areas;
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections across the campus;
  • Implement security measures consistent with best practices;
  • Maintain accurate incident reports and inform violators of rule infractions;
  • Collaborate with administration, student resource officers, staff, and students;
  • Respond to requests requiring additional security assistance;
  • Maintain positive communications with stakeholders including students, staff, and administration.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent diploma;
  • NYS Security Guard License and NYS Driver's License;
  • One year experience as campus patrol, security officer, or equivalent;
  • Aptitude to de-escalate situations and respond to emergencies;
  • Good working relationships with students, staff, administration, and community;
  • Solid understanding of emergency response protocols.

Benefits

Step 1 ($22.07/hr) - Step 5 ($23.88/hr); CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Certifications/Qualifications

Physical condition commensurate with job responsibilities.
