About Us

The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a world-class museum that showcases exquisite artefacts from the Palace Museum's collections. We collaborate with other museums in research, exhibitions, education, and public programmes. The museum features 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum's collections, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support the planning and implementation of our Chinese object study training programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development of workshops, lectures, and study visits;
  • Coordinating day-to-day administrative tasks, including preparing project memos and plans, emails, and letters;
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets, tracking project financials, and providing analysis and reports;
  • Managing project calendars and tracking progress;
  • Collaborating with our Learning and Engagement team to plan and implement public-facing projects related to the HKPM's Chinese object study training programme;
  • Serving as a liaison between the HKPM and sponsors, stakeholders, and scholars;
  • Helping to build a network of academics, professors, university graduate students, sponsors, and building strong relationships with them;

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A recognised university degree in a relevant field, such as Chinese art history and archaeology, heritage/collection management, conservation/conservation science, or culture studies;
  • Strong interests in Chinese art and culture, and preferably some knowledge about working directly with art objects in museums, universities, or other organisations;
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in conducting research, teaching, or project/event management;
  • Proficiency in office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Good problem-solving skills and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese with good command of Putonghua;
  • Able to pay attention to details and be self-motivated and organised;
  • Available to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, for events if necessary.
