We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Research Assistant Professor in Geriatric Division at our Faculty of Medicine.
This role involves analyzing large multimodal datasets to examine the roles of gut microbiome and blood-based metabolites in Alzheimer's disease and human aging. The appointee will be expected to lead a team in designing and performing bioinformatics, data analysis, clinical trials, and supervising PhD students and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and perform bioinformatics and data analysis to characterize the causality between gut microbiota and AD and ageing;
- Conduct clinical trials of probiotics for AD and osteoporosis;
- Supervise PhD students and interns;
Requirements:
- A PhD related to human diseases with strong background in molecular biology and bioinformatics;
- Experience in diet and nutrition data processing and analysis;
- Experience in multi-omics data processing and integrated analysis;
- Track record of productivity supported by first-author publications in high impact journals, international patents, translational outputs, and grants awarded;
- Outstanding writing and communication skills, with an ability to work both independently and within collaborative teams productively.
Benefits:
- Initial contract basis for one to two years, renewable subject to performance, funding availability, and mutual agreement;
- Opportunity to work with a leading research institution in Hong Kong;
- Competitive salary: approximately HKD 530,000 - HKD 640,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
