Lingnan University is a leading research-intensive liberal arts institution in the digital era. The university seeks a talented Data Scientist to join its research team in the Science Unit. The appointee will work on a collaborative industry project focused on GeoAI research and software development in smart transportation disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement smart traffic and transportation project solutions
  • Cleanse and analyze traffic-related datasets, create predictive models to forecast trends and identify patterns
  • Assist in prototype design, GeoAI application implementation, and overall system integration, database design, programming, testing, refinement, and documentation
  • Develop educational materials and deliver trainings/workshops to students
  • Provide administrative support and other research-related duties to the supervisor

Requirements:

  • A bachelor/master degree or above in Information Technology, Computer/Data Science and AI, or other related disciplines
  • 2 to 5 years of solid experience in relevant field with sophisticated skills and knowledge in Python, tensor flow, and PyTorch, familiar with AI, ML, and DL Models
  • 1 to 2 years of solid experience in database management and the use of database query language such as SQL
  • Sensitive to data and equipped with data processing capabilities. Have a solid foundation in data analysis and statistical knowledge is preferred
  • Familiar with GIS and CSDI is preferred but not required
  • Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated experience in research project management and academic publication
