Safety Supervisor Job Description

At Gammon, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all works on site are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company policies and statutory regulations.
  • Assist the Safety Officer in developing and implementing the HS&E Management System.
  • Provide first aid treatment and assist part-time First Aiders as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with site personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, including incident rates and near-miss events.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or Certificate of Construction Safety Supervisor (OSHC or CICTA preferred).
  • At least 1 year's relevant safety experience in Building/Façade projects.
  • Site supervision experience is essential.
  • Good understanding of construction processes.
  • First Aider preferred.
  • Excellent coordination, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word & Excel).
