We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at Stanley St. Peter's CE (VC) Primary & Nursery School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers and pupils to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teachers in the classroom, providing individualized attention to pupils and helping to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that pupils receive a high-quality education.
  • Work with pupils who require additional support, using your skills and experience to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to the development of a well-organized and inclusive classroom, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ideas, ensuring that our school remains a place of excellence and innovation.
Requirements:
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE (grade A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Understanding of how children learn on an individual level, ensuring progress and achievement.
  • Ability to establish a rapport with children and interact with them according to their individual needs.
  • Capacity to encourage and enthuse children to participate in all school activities, promoting effective learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and parents.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the job, with a commitment to delivering the best possible education to all our pupils.
  • High aspirations for your own career development, with a desire to grow and learn with our school.

Selection Criteria:
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Organizational skills, enabling effective work across the school.
  • High expectations for children's work and behavior, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Secure understanding of the primary National Curriculum, ensuring effective teaching and learning.
  • Relevant experience of working with primary-aged pupils with SEND, supporting their needs and achievements.
  • Preferably, a Level 2 or above qualification in supporting in schools, or a willingness to work towards this.
