The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in wastewater engineering technologies.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater engineering, who can assist in the management and technological coordination of our laboratory and preparation of research project documents.

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement good laboratory practice and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support the research, administration, and management of the Center, working closely with Scientific Officers and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate multiple research projects and collaborate with different parties.
  • Develop and commercialize new research initiatives, working closely with industry partners.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and large conferences, as well as deliver programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Prepare project documents, including proposals, plans, and reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience as a laboratory scientist, preferably in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Strong teaching and training experience, as well as commercialization skills.
  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Experience with computational drawing skills using AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and SolidWorks would be an advantage.
