Salary Range: HKD 1,250,000 - HKD 1,800,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Database Specialist to join our Critical Service Delivery project teams. As a key member of our Database team, you will be responsible for designing and building high-performance IT infrastructure for our application systems. Your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining our company-wise database infrastructure, ensuring stability, high throughput, and low latency in fast-growing financial markets in Hong Kong.

Job Description:
  • Design and implement database administration and support services in Linux and Cloud platforms;
  • Implement and support infrastructure solutions in sophisticated, high-performance trading environments;
  • Provide support and implementation work to application teams, including database setup, migration, and SQL performance analysis;
  • Administer and manage Oracle Databases / IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB, including monitoring, troubleshooting, installation, patching, and upgrade, performance tuning, backup, and recovery, stress testing, capacity planning;
  • Implement compliance standards and perform regular system compliance reviews, proactively assessing exposure areas;
  • Maintain high system availability and ensure all database systems work properly;
  • Manage vendors to ensure the highest quality delivery and implementation.

Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant discipline;
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in managing and supporting Oracle / IBM DB2 / PostgreSQL / GaussDB databases;
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle database, including RAC, ASM, DataGuard, data partitioning, load balancing, JDBC, ODBC, and integration with J2EE applications;
  • Advanced knowledge of database high availability, partitioning, load balancing, security, backup, and recovery, and performance monitoring standards;
  • Strong hands-on experience in shell script programming for process improvement and automation;
  • Experiences in AWS RDS, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB are advantageous;
  • Experiences in SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures;
  • Experience in system programming and administration on Linux Platform;
  • Project management experience in sizable scale technology infrastructure implementation;
  • Proactive, strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
