Music Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Music Instructor to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music-related courses and supervising students' projects, musical performances, and fieldwork placements.

• To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students' projects, musical performances, and fieldwork placements.
• To assist in programme development and teaching and learning packages.
• To perform duties in relation to student and academic administration.
• To participate in projects and functions, including music shows, graduation shows, seminars, and exhibitions, where necessary.

• A recognised Higher Diploma in a relevant field, holder of Grade 8 certificate of Piano / Guitar (ABRSM / Trinity / Rockschool) or above or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years' work or teaching experience in the relevant industry.
• Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
• Good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in the music industry or live shows / events would be an advantage.
• Ability to pass a trade test.

• Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated above but possessing 8 years' relevant experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
• Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
• In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
• The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
