We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Postdoctoral Researchers and Research Associates/Assistants. The selected candidates will work on a company incorporated by the University of Hong Kong, which is dedicated to administering and supporting the University's innovation endeavours.

Our projects are initiated and supervised by scientists and clinicians from The University of Hong Kong and University of Cambridge. Shortlisted candidates will be assigned to one to two projects in the Centre according to their expertise and experience. The Centre aims to translate discoveries in regenerative medicine and genomic medicine into daily application. Candidates will work on the R&D and business development of the project, which may involve pitching sessions and meetings with potential investors.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline for the position of Postdoctoral Researchers, and at least a Bachelor degree in the abovementioned disciplines for the position of Research Associates/Assistants. A strong publication/patent record for Postdoctoral Researchers would be a bonus. Research experience in at least one of the areas including stem cells, regenerative medicine, cancer, heart disease, liver disease, animal models, immunology, embryology, genomics, genome-editing, and drug screening are desirable. Applicants should have a good practice of laboratory and teamwork. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated track record of wet laboratory experience. Applicants should also be self-motivated, innovative, and able to work well in an interdisciplinary team.

  • New technology relevant to stem cells with totipotency features
  • Molecular determinants in direct differentiation of expanded potential stem cells (ESPCs) to functional cells
  • Genome editing of EPSCs and new genome editing techniques and applications in ES cells
  • Protein engineering and direct molecular evolution
  • Application of stem cell-derived cells for disease modeling/drug screening
  • Cell products
  • EPSCs as a platform for the generation of genome-edited animals
  • Stem cells for studying immunological disorders
  • Drug candidates for immunological disorders

Appointees are expected to conduct research projects with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists. Working off-campus may be required.

Fresh graduates are welcome. Applicants should provide a cover letter showing interest in a specific project, and an up-to-date C.V. with a research publication list and referees' contact information.

A highly competitive remuneration package regarding qualifications and experiences will be offered, in addition to at least 18 days of annual leave and medical & dental group insurance coverage.
