About the Role
Pinpoint Asia is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team in developing and maintaining Java-based systems for algorithmic trading.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance Java-based systems for algorithmic trading.
- Collaborate with the DeltaOne trading desk to develop and optimize platform solutions.
- Ongoing maintenance and optimization of internal risk and inventory management across Asian markets.
- Coding, debugging, and performance tuning in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Managing the full application lifecycle in an agile development setting.
- Effective communication with global colleagues to ensure seamless implementation of updates and changes.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- In-depth expertise in core Java programming within UNIX/Linux environments.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing performance at the Java / Garbage Collector / Linux OS level.
- Demonstrated experience working in a front-office context alongside trading and quantitative strategy teams.
- Background in developing systems for automated market-making, direct market access, or algorithmic trading in liquid markets such as equities, foreign exchange, or liquid rates.
- Proficient in building systems utilizing the FIX protocol.
- Strong knowledge of SQL-based database systems, including Sybase, DB2, or KDB.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like shell, Python, or q.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is typically necessary to possess the required skills for this role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from a reputable University
