Job Summary

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing employee relations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment, and fostering strong relationships with our cabin crew and union representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with various teams and departments to implement changes related to cabin crew employment.
  • Conduct research and provide background information on employee relations matters and legal cases.
  • Monitor and analyze cabin crew sentiment to identify potential issues and work with the Cabin Crew Communications & Engagement Manager to develop resolutions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Hong Kong union and support the management of all base unions.
  • Support regular union meetings in Hong Kong, updating records and gathering data to inform union engagement.

Cabin Crew Employment

  • Provide research and support to the Head of Employee Relations and Communications - Inflight Service on cabin crew employment-related matters.
  • Oversee and drive the development of cabin crew-related policies to ensure alignment with corporate direction.
  • Work with the Legal team to ensure compliance with employment legislation and act as the internal expert on employment-related initiatives.

Bases

  • Initiate and implement productivity improvements related to workflow processes at outport bases.
  • Assist with ensuring legal compliance of practices across all bases.
  • Liaise with bases to ensure streamlined operations and alignment of policies and procedures with Hong Kong practice.
  • Monitor and follow up on grievances cases for outport base unions and maintain accurate records of solutions implemented.
  • Assist with performance management of CX Cabin Crew bases and participate in cabin crew bases recruitment and promotion processes.

Requirements

  • Computer literacy, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Strong strategic agility and influencing skills.
  • Rigorous analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Driver of change and collaborative approach.
  • Tertiary education or HR qualification.
  • Cabin crew operational environment and standards (safety, service, etc.).
  • Human Resource, including recruitment, qualifications, and knowledge of relevant employment legislation.
  • Understanding of labour-related legal issues in global jurisdictions.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the airline industry.
