Job Title: Part-time Teaching Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-time Teaching Associate to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching duties, supervising students' projects, and assisting in curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and assist in the supervision of students' projects and fieldwork placement
  • Assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning, and assessment materials
  • Carry out duties related to student and academic administration
  • Participate in departmental projects and functions, including consultancy services, research studies, seminars, and exhibitions

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree, preferably with a postgraduate qualification, in English Language, English Language and Literature, Language Studies (English), Linguistics, Education (English), English Communication, or Translation (English)
  • OR a recognised degree in a non-relevant field and a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education (major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language, or Teaching English as a Foreign Language
  • Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese
  • Good knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Preferably with relevant teaching and/or industry experience
  • Preferably with some understanding of the hospitality and culinary industry

Notes:

  • Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications may also apply
  • Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a written assessment and a teaching demonstration session
  • The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned
  • In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process
