As a School Climate Enhancement Facilitator, you will play a vital role in shaping the school culture at Waterloo Central School District. Your primary responsibility will be to create a positive and inclusive environment, fostering a sense of belonging among students, teachers, and staff.
About the Role:- Design and deliver professional development opportunities, equipping teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to support students with diverse needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement restorative circles, mediations, and other practices that promote social-emotional learning and conflict resolution.
- Develop and maintain a system for monitoring and addressing incidents of bullying, harassment, and other forms of systemic injustice.
- Support teachers in creating inclusive lesson plans, materials, and assessments that reflect the diversity of their students.
A successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong understanding of social justice, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Experience with restorative practices, cultural competence, and crisis management is highly valued.
Responsibilities:- Provide coaching and mentoring to new teachers, supporting their transition into the school community.
- Support the development of a district-wide Positive Behavior Initiative (PBI), promoting a culture of inclusivity, respect, and kindness.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement staff development sessions, focusing on topics such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Analyze data related to student engagement, attendance, and academic achievement, making recommendations for improvement.
