About the Role

As a deep financial risk subject matter expert, this position will be responsible for proactively managing overall insurance risk, ALM risk, and regulatory solvency risk. The role will provide risk oversight, challenge, and analytical insights for the Group and business units over all financial risk-taking activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain the Group's Risk Appetite Statement and principles for the Group.
  2. Establish and implement relevant risk management frameworks for the Group.
  3. Provide Group-level risk oversight of AIA's product development & approval, in-force management, reinsurance, actuarial assumption setting, and claims & underwriting.
  4. Monitor and report ALM risk through active participation in the annual SAA review exercise.
  5. Develop and apply the Group stress & scenario testing framework to monitor the Group's solvency and financial strength.
  6. Lead the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Recovery Plan for AIA Group.
  7. Develop leading indicators and compile relevant management information to assist the Group Financial Risk Committee to understand and oversee the insurance, ALM, and regulatory solvency risk profile.
  8. Maintain and enhance the Risk Capital model.
  9. Participate in financial risk-related ad-hoc projects based on senior management requests or external developments.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance and/or related area. Qualified actuary and FRM preferred.
  2. 15+ years of actuarial, insurance business, investment, or finance experience within a large-scale financial services environment.
  3. Proven track record of initiating policy and control improvement and driving programs that enhance transparency, governance, or control.
  4. Expert analysis and decision-making skills.
  5. Proactive, driven leader with the ability to operate effectively from the conceptual stage through to successful implementation.
  6. Strong influencing and interpersonal relationship skills to build networks across the organization.
  7. Excellent presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization. Ability to articulate complex information in a compelling and succinct manner.
  8. Candidates with less experience or not meeting all job requirements will be considered for a more junior position.
