Job Summary

We are seeking experienced lifeguards to join our team at the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. As a Seasonal Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers at our beaches and water sports centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of swimmers at beaches and water sports centres
  • Rescue swimmers in distress
  • Maintain order and assist in cleaning work
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have at least one year's work experience at public beaches or water sports centres within 20 years of service immediately before retirement
  • Hold a valid Beach Lifeguard Award or above issued by the Hong Kong Life Saving Society
  • Hold a valid First Aid Certificate issued by the St. John Ambulance Association, Hong Kong Red Cross or Auxiliary Medical Service
  • Pass the selection interview, swimming and trade tests
  • Pass an eyesight test and the Ishihara's Test
  • Have satisfactory performance and conduct in the most recent three years of service in LCSD
Working Hours and Terms

The conditioned working hours are 45 hours net per week. The incumbent is required to work 7.5 hours per day (excluding meal breaks) and may be required to work shifts, overtime, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Applicants will be appointed on contract terms under the PRSC Scheme and will be granted rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, and a gratuity upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
